I was inspired to paint this image after I saw the movie "Dark Knight" and was horrified by it's message. I felt it was saying that a good man cannot exist in power in these terrible times. I did not accept this and wished to create a positive icon based on the new paradigm. This is the basis of my Neo-Mythic Art^®. I was also intrigued by the painting of the black knight, St. Maurice, that I see regularly in Prague. He was a 3rd century knight from Meroe near the Nile and widely venerated in Europe.
